BLACK OR BROWN NAIL?
CONCERN
Black or brown discolouration of the nail can result from professional exposure to substances such as potassium permanganate, silver nitrate, hair dyes, or heavily pigmented nail enamels. Tobacco, systemic illness, and fungal infections can also cause this type of discolouration. Because the underlying cause varies significantly, it's important to identify the origin before treating.
SOLUTION
When discolouration is cosmetic in origin, targeted nail care and protective colour can help manage the appearance while new nail grows through. Apply Mavala 002 Protective Base Coat to shield the nail plate before any colour application, follow with your preferred nail colour, and seal with Colorfix top coat for lasting protection and a polished finish. If discolouration may be related to illness or a systemic condition, we recommend consulting a dermatologist for proper diagnosis and treatment.

Ingredients
We source our ingredients and raw materials from the nearest suppliers in Switzerland to reduce our carbon footprint. We also increasingly use ingredients that are readily biodegradable. In particular, we do not use plastic microbeads nor cyclopentasiloxane (D5), which contribute to ocean pollution.
Packaging
Whenever possible, we package our products without a box or cellophane and in recycled and recyclable materials (including plastic and glass) to reduce waste. We have also implemented clear labelling on product packaging to assist you in knowing which part of the packaging can be recycled and how.
Manufacturing
Whenever possible, we manufacture under cold conditions to reduce energy consumption. We are also implementing strict waste separation and recycling processes in our production site and warehouses, including that of our Canadian distributor.
